The Ken Lockwood Chapter of Trout Unlimited (TU) is a conservation organization dedicated to the preservation of our cold water resources. The objectives of the national organization of Trout Unlimited are to conserve, protect and restore cold water resources and the watersheds on which they depend. Protecting water quality, in stream flows, Atlantic and Pacific salmon and wild trout conservation.
The Ken Lockwood Chapter has adopted the South Branch of the Raritan and its tributaries as our home river. The chapter works with other TU chapters, watershed groups, NJ Fish and Wildlife, municipalities and other conservation organizations to accomplish our water quality preservation goals.
Activities include in stream work, stream bank stabilization, water quality monitoring, youth education programs (Pequest Hatchery), fund raising , and YES! we do like to fish. Trout Unlimited practices catch and release. A trout is too valuable to be caught just once.
